7.4CT Beautiful Vitreous Scapolite (untreated) Transparent Oval Cut Gemstone

Description

Discovered in 1913 in upper Burma, scapolite has become a desirable gemstone for both jewelers and collectors, although it is a lesser-known stone. This beautiful scapolite weighs 7.40 carats and has a measurement of 16mm by 12mm. It has a vitreous luster and excellent transparency, perfect for jewelry. The gemstone carries a violet hue in a light to medium tone. No signs of treatment are apparent upon examination. This stone's cut grade is excellent and is faceted in an oval shape popular for jewelry design. To maintain its elegance, proper care is necessary due to its durability. The hardness level of scapolite ranges between 5½ to 6 and should be cleaned with a soft brush, mild soap, and lukewarm water.
