Antique 19th c PIETRA DURA Victorian Black Onyx Floral Cross Pendant RARE 3"

This stunning and extremely hard-to-find Victorian Pietra Dura cross will make an excellent addition to your antique Victorian or mourning jewelry collection. As expected, it does have some wear so please read complete details and information below!  Thank you and enjoy!
SIZE: Approximately 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 3" overall including the bail. The bail measures approximately 7mm wide x 8mm deep x 14mm tall.
WEIGHT: Approximately 18 grams total
CONDITION: In used vintage antique condition with wear including chips around the corner edges and front/back surfaces, miscellaneous scratching and abrasions, dulling to the surface, missing/cracked/lost inlay fill/pieces and wear to the end of the bail as shown in photos.  In my opinion, the rarity offsets any of the condition issues for this amazing piece of Victorian jewelry. Please carefully review photos for condition details.
MARKS: I cannot find any 100% verifiable marks on the black material or on the metal findings.  However, the metal setting that the eye hook sits in appears to have either a few intersecting scratches on it or it is a mark that might include an X, I and/or V. The area I am referring to is very small and worn so it is nearly impossible to determine one way or the other. Likely made in Italy.
MATERIALS: This piece is not within my area of expertise so please familiarize yourself with this style of jewelry as the following comments are my novice opinions based on limited research. The pendant tests in the low quartz range on my Presidium Gem Tester II which along with it being cold to the touch, the lack of sharp edges and overall appearance leads me to believe that it is black onyx but I cannot guarantee. The bail tests as 10k gold via an acid test which leads me to believe it is either 10k or gold fill...based on the wear to the end I am guessing gold fill. The metal eye hook that the bail attaches to appears to be base metal set into a gold tone metal.
