We offer shoelace metal aglets in three sizes and five colors.
The sizes are:
3mm diameter [1/8 inch] and 17MM long [43/64 inch]
4mm diameter [5/32 inch] and 18mm long [45/64 inch]
5mm diameter [3/16 inch] and 23mm long [29/32 inch].
Choose an aglet that is large enough to fit over your shoelace AND small enough to fit through the eyelet of your shoe or boot. The holes the manufacturer punched in the tops of your aglets resulted in a small piece of metal pointing toward the center of the aglet. They did that to make a cleat that will clamp onto your shoelace as you squeeze the aglet over the lace. We recommend that you spread 2-3 drops of household glue (we use super glue) on the portion of your lace that will be covered by the aglet. The combination of the cleats and the glue will give you a tight, strong, long lasting shoelace tip.
If you have an aglet crimper installing the aglet is a snap. If not, use household pliers with a rag wrapped around the pliers jaws.
Gently
squeeze along the sides of the aglet, moving from side to side until the ends meet.
We include an extra free aglet that you can use for practice using your pliers. The manufacturer has increased the price, probably due to the trade war.
