    Description

Historical piece. I hope this piece is worth more than scrap to someone.   Rare offering of a  marriage presentation plate from WW2 Ream General Hospital.   Engraved, "William Bailer and Elizabeth Seybolt  22 Jan 1944 Ream General Hospital Palm Beach Fla". The couple worked and met at the Ream military hospital.  He was a 1'st Lt. She was a 2nd Lt. Nurse. There is an archive scrapbook inside the Flagler museum mentioning the couple. An article about the couple was published in "Inside Whitehall" is viewable online.
The sterling plate itself is from around 1920 , made by the Woodward company. 9.5" in diameter and approximately 10 oz. in weight. I didn't believe polishing the plate would enhance value so I left it as found. The tarnish adds character and reminds me that this was faded but a remembered memento of a time gone by.
