    Description
The Kushano-Sassanian Kingdom was a branch of the Sassanian Persian Empire that expanded in to Bactria and Gandhara at the expense of the declining Kushan Empire. Initially a sub-kingdom of the greater Sassanian Empire, Ardashir I Kushanshah was the Sassanian governor of Sogdiana, Bactria and Gandhara who struck coins in his own name as Kushansha or “Kings of the Kushans”.
