Sterling Silver 7” Deeply Pierced Compote or Basket Excellent Condition

Description

Up for sale is a beautifully detailed Compote or basket which is 7 inches wide. The basket
with the handle stands a bit more than 5 inches tall. The compote itself is about 3/4 of an
inch tall. The foot or pedestal is about 3 inches wide. There are no dings or dents
or any nicks. The basket was made between 1905 and 1929 and was made by
Watson Company of Massachusetts. Who used the hallmark as shown no later than
the 1920s. The firm was in business from 1880 to 1955. A few stray flecks of
tarnish is the only and very minor issue. Very few scratches anywhere. The
basket weighs about 5 1/2 Troy ounces or about 142 grams. A very unique
sized basket we have not seen before. The handle is not stationary and can
be moved from side to side. Ready for delivery to your home or office.
